When you first opened up your salon, you probably looked around at the empty store and wondered how you would ever be able to fill up all that space. Before long you probably found yourself wishing you had even more space, especially when you receive a large new stock of retail supplies that you wish to display.

The good news is that there are a few things you can do to increase the amount of retail space available to you while still keeping your salon attractive and organized. Being mindful of your retail store shelves and the many options for displaying your merchandise will allow you to showcase your items for purchase.

Glass store shelves are an excellent idea for salons. Not only will the shelf provide you with the space you need, but they also look a great deal more attractive than the stainless steel shelving preferred by grocery stores.

When you're setting up the retail shelves in your salon, you want to take your time and make sure they're arranged so that the merchandise you most want to sell is right at the customers’ eye level. This encourages shoppers to pick up the bottles of lotion and shampoo and learn more about them. Whenever possible, you should also arrange your retail shelves so your customers can see your merchandise reflected in the mirror while they're having their hair done.

End units can be a great way to increase the amount of retail space you have available. Just be careful you don't overload these shelves. Keeping a little space between the bottles and other items you're marketing will keep your display more visually appealing.

If you find that you still don't have as much display space as you'd like, take a step back and scan your walls. It is possible to create additional space by installing shelves above existing shelving. Just be aware of height for when customers have to reach for a product, as well as how much weight the current shelves will be able to withstand.

Finding the right store shelves will improve your retail space by allowing you to display more of your product in better and more efficient locations for your customers. Handy Store Fixtures provides a wide variety of warehouse and retail store shelves to suit any project you have in mind.
