Retail displays are not only a window on the world for customers but it in many instances the position of the retail shelving units will either make or break a potential sale.  This is especially crucial for many retail businesses that will make up a sizable portion of their sales during the all-important holiday season when product placement matters.

One way of eliminating stale retail display shelving is to never let the customers become used to the same display items.  Customers love the idea of newness and by changing the display shelving every two weeks or so, he is given the impression that new sales products are being stocked.  Also consider moving certain retail display shelving units to various locations within the store, which again leaves the impression of product newness in the merchandise presentation.

Another option to enhance retail shelving units is to place sure fire sales items that are more costly toward the front of the store on the retail shelving units.  Get the customer interested immediately in the most fanciest or new products and items.  Give them the opportunity to see and touch and become enticed by the most expensive products.  In the end she will see those items and translates into more sales.

Check out the lighting on the gondola shelving units. Low sales could be tied to low lighting.  Make certain the lighting is bright enough so that the products on the retail display shelving are not sitting in shadows.  If moving the shelving is a hassle, simply purchase a few portable floor spot lights to light up the displays.

Do not be afraid to move retail display shelving into other department areas in order to appeal to a completely different customer type.  Consider using holiday fun props to encourage buyers to look at the other merchandise on display. Each holiday is an opportunity to refresh the displays.

The major key to eliminating a stale retail display is to think out of the box and never let products stay nailed to one location.
